Jedburgh is on the Jed Water, a tributary of the River Teviot.
Notes
A brown mint-flavoured boiled sweet is a local speciality. The recipe is said to date back to French prisoners held in the town during the Napoleonic War.

Jedburgh was the last English stronghold in Scotland.
The abbey was founded as a priory, by King David I in 1138. Border wars with England in the 16th century left the abbey a ruin.
