Jedburgh, an former Ancient Royal Burgh is situated on the A68 , and is just 10 miles from the border English border. The town has a 12th century Augustinian Abbeyas, founded in 1138, beside the Jed Water, as well as the historic Castle Jail. Mary Queen of Scots stayed here in 1566, at a house which tells her story.
